Speeding driver tells cops he was trying to 'reset the future'

Having God on your side is a defence that's always going to raise eyebrows but telling traffic police that you were trying to alter the future while driving like a lunatic is a new one on us.

And it may well have been for the local cops on the idyllic Hawaiian island of Maui when they were confronted by a driver seemingly hell-bent on trouble along the roads of Kihei town.
