Video: Top Gear does Monaco

Anyone who tuned in early to the BBC's coverage of an eventful Monaco Grand Prix will have been treated to this sneak preview of the new series of Top Gear, rumoured to begin sometime next month.

The 90-second clip shows the TG trio tackling the world's toughest street circuit in three of Europe's best hot hatches - the Renault Clio 200 Cup, Citroen DS3 Racing and (perhaps because it's the appropriate size for the diminutive Hammond) the Fiat 500 Abarth.

We assume the segment will feature as part of a larger scale challenge as the presenters shared the cockpit with Bernie Ecclestone, Christian Horner and Flavio Briatore. If it's not part of a bigger feature, then the Top Gear team are rather overdressed in their fire-proof suits while their passengers are just in civvies.
