Council reclassifies pothole depth as UK's worst roads are named

Updated

A London council is eradicating hundreds of potholes from its streets in one easy step – by redefining how deep a hole has to be before it requires filling in.

Previously South London's Lambeth council classed a hole that was 25mm (0.98in) deep as a pothole that required filling in, but now it will only fix holes that are 40mm (1.57in) deep.
