Bi-lingual exit sign leaves Welsh drivers unsure of where to go

Updated

Welsh drivers at a Tesco supermarket in Swansea will be left with a dilemma when trying to leave – the English instructions point them in one direction, while the Welsh word for exit sends them the other way.

Non-Welsh speakers will probably assume that 'Allanfa' is another word for petrol station, which is also to the left of the sign. However, they might get stuck behind a Welsh-speaking motorist who just wants to leave without filling up his car, proving that Tesco's "Every little helps" slogan is not always true.
