Drunk sailors rescued in Devon as boat hits lighthouse 'like a pinball'

Updated

Three drunk holidaymakers have been rescued after losing control of their boat in the sea off the south Devon coast.

A member of the public alerted coastguards to their troubled 27ft vessel near Teignmouth on Friday night.

According to the BBC, the coastguards said the boat was seen 'acting like a pinball' , drifting without power and smashing into a lighthouse.

It started filling up with water before being towed to safety by the Teignmouth lifeboat.

The coastguards confirmed the people on board had been drinking.

So there's a lesson to be learnt here - don't sip and sail!
