Meerkats get an early Easter surprise!

Updated

Meerkats at Blair Drummond Safari Park looked like they were in heaven as they enjoyed an egg-cellent early Easter treat.

The wardens at the park painted ostrich and rheas eggs for them, and filled the insides with meerkat must-haves: meal worms.

But while some of the animals worked it out quite quickly (put hand in hole and pick them out - simples!), others weren't quite so fast on the uptake - and got their heads stuck inside.

Or maybe that was just their version of licking the plate clean?
