Dancers reopen Disneyland Tokyo with a bang

Updated

Dancers dressed as bunnies and all the famous Disney characters reopened Disneyland Tokyo with a bang today after it was closed for a month following the devastating tsunami and earthquake.

Japanese children were obviously delighted as they ran into the park shouting 'Mickey, Mickey!'.

Officials closed Disneyland on 11 March after the devastating natural disaster hit the country, killing tens of thousands and creating a nuclear crisis.

Yasuhiro Sato, with her three-year-old daughter Yume, told The Sun: 'It was pretty lonely without the park.

'Certainly we still have earthquakes and the nuclear crisis, both of which mean we can't relax yet. But here we can forget about them for a while.'
