Jason Plato has become the most successful driver in British Touring Car history after taking the chequered flag in the season opener at Brands Hatch today.

The Silverline Chevrolet Cruze driver won his 61st BTCC race to overtake his and Andy Rouse's previous record tally of 60 wins.
