It's fair to say that Mercedes had a pretty awful weekend in Melbourne. The team was off the pace in qualifying and neither driver made it to the chequered flag on Sunday.

In the face of such disappointment, the British automatically resort to pitch-black humour to keep morale up. That's not something we usually attribute to our German friends, but the latest Merc ad reveals that the team are not beyond taking a wry look at things.

The commercial plays on the polite, but intense rivalry between seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher and the young pretender, Nico Rosberg. With a bit of Mika Hakkinen thrown in.
