Taxman blunders will continue for two years

It's hard to see how HMRC could have been doing a worse job. All they have to do is charge us the right amount of tax, and then collect it off us in a sensible manner, but the last few months have shown us just how far this is from their grasp. The PAYE coding nightmare, the aggressive tax demands with little or no notice, the demands that didn't hold any water on appeal, the inability to pick up the phone when people try to sort out their tax issues.... The list goes on.

And now a top official has told MPs that this chaos will last until 2013 at the very least. So what's going on, and what does it mean for you?
