Huge fleet of cars destroyed in Japanese tsunami

Far worse casualties will emerge from the Japanese earthquake and tsunami in the coming days but for us here at Autoblog a whole fleet of destroyed cars is also a sobering sight.

The image above and the video below were taken from above Hitachinaka city in Ibaraki prefecture and shows how hundreds of car lined up for export fell victim to the immense powers of the tsunami that swept across northern Japan after the country was struck by an 8.9-magnitude earthquake on Friday.
