Will you be taking a fake-cation this year?

Updated

Holidays are meant to be a break from the daily grind, right?

Wrong. Because these days, more of us are working while on holiday than ever before.

Tripadvisor's latest Travel Trends Forecast reveals that 69% of people connect with work while away, and 62% check their work email.

This growing trend has even got a name: 'bleisure', or the 'fake-ation' - and the travel industry is finding all sorts of ways to keep workaholics happy, with bleisure and fake-ation packages popping up all over the place.

Take the the Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort in Saint Lucia, which claims to 'cater to your every work whim'. There's internet connection in every room, conference facilities and the supply of screens and projects, fax, photocopying and televisions and even a personal assistant (for an additional cost) to assist business travellers with their out of office experience.

Mark Ozawa, managing director of Windjammer Landing, said: 'We're seeing a rise in visitors combining their family trips with work, as we have the facilities for remote working, to minimise the disruption of leaving the office behind. Our visitors know they can work here in comfort, but they have the luxury of being able to log off and immediately enjoy holiday time with the family on the beach or in one of our restaurants.'

If you can tear yourself away from your work, the resort boasts over 1,500 feet of white sand beaches with a full water sports programme, five swimming pools and an outdoor Jacuzzi. There's a fitness centre, flood-lit tennis courts and an array of excursions.

A seven night stay at Windjammer Landing for a family of four (room only) starts at approximately £2324 (dependent on exchange rates). Call 0808 101 7261, email tgills@windjammer-landing.com, or visit windjammer-landing.com
