Updated

Bernie Ecclestone is 'hopeful' that the first Grand Prix of the Formula 1 season will go ahead in spite of the unrest in the Middle East country.

Gunfire has been heard in the Bahrain capital of Manama at the funeral today of three protesters killed on Thursday, and there are unconfirmed reports that security forces have had to fire tear gas at supporters, but Bernie has said that he hopes the whole issue "blows away" so his race can go ahead.
