Porsche sends three electric Boxsters out on test

Porsche is signalling its intent to move further into the world of alternatively fuelled vehicles, with the trial of three electric Boxster prototypes.

The new cars are not exactly down on power though, and are propelled by a pair of electric motors that develop a combined output of 241bhp. These are charged by batteries positioned in the same place as the conventional Boxster's engine – in the middle – and have a 29 kw/h capacity.
