US investigators say Toyota acceleration fault wasn't electronic
An investigation has revealed that no electronic faults contributed to unwarranted acceleration in Toyota cars last year.
A team of scientists from NASA and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in America studied 280,000 lines of Toyota software, and 3,054 complaints of sudden acceleration and found that the problem was instead with the physical pedals, or simply driver error.
