Strange but true: Scots unveil the world's first 3D dining experience

Updated

If you've got a taste for good food and art, head to The Ubiquitous Chip this March for the world's first 3D dining experience. The Glasgow eaterie will be hosting a revolutionary sensory dining experience, titled Ingr3dients, as part of its year-long 40th birthday celebrations.

Each night, around 100 diners will enjoy this very unusual culinary and artistic feast at the courtyard restaurant. Through the course of their meal, guests will interact with art installations by Scottish artist Alasdair Gray and digital artist Debs Norton.

The three-dimensional visual spectacles will include a seascape featuring a leaping salmon and the appearance of Morag the Highland Cow, to the tune of ambient soundscapes. Meanwhile, Norton will keep it live by mixing 3D images in response to diners' reactions.

Ingr3dients will take place between 7 and 31 March and again in October. Dinner will cost £49.95 per person, excluding wine.
