Watch the royal wedding where the romance began

Updated

Fancy watching the biggest wedding of the year somewhere with a really unique twist?

How about where the happy couple first fell in lust? Well, you're in luck, because that's exactly what you can do at the Fairmont St Andrews.

In 2001 the five-star Scottish resort hosted the charity fashion show in which Kate Middleton appeared in a sheer black lace dress while the Prince watched from a front-row seat – widely reported to be the first time his head was turned by his future fiancée.

Prince William was a regular visitor to Fairmont St Andrews during his time studying at St Andrews University, becoming an active member of the resort's gym and spa and was seen regularly enjoying fruit cocktails in the venue's Atrium and Kittocks Den.

To mark the special occasion - and give you a top watching spot - Fairmont St Andrews will be showing full, big-screen coverage of the wedding and providing you with a complete royal experience.

You'll enjoy a two-night stay, which includes dinner in the Squire restaurant – the room where the fashion show took place – and a 60-minute treatment in the spa of which Prince William was a member.

There's also a complimentary shuttle bus service to St Andrews so you can visit and explore the ancient town and university where the couple both lived and studied.

The hotel has recently undergone a £17m makeover, meaning it's in tip-top shape, plus it boasts two championship golf courses, the Torrance and Kittocks, which will keep him happy!

The two-night package costs £229 per person, based on two people sharing a twin or double room, and is valid between 29 April and 1 May. To book your stay simply call 01334 837000 or email standrews.scotland@fairmont.com and quote 'Royal Wedding'.
