Monopoly, anyone? Give the kids an Indoor Games Break

Updated

Looking for inspiration this half term? It's game on at Bailiffscourt Hotel and Spa in Climping, West Sussex, which has just launched a novel idea for a short break that's bound to appeal to your competitive side.

The historic hotel, which was once the country retreat of the Guinness family, has collaborated with one of the oldest games manufacturers in the world, Jaques of London, to devise an Indoor Games Break.

Guests who book the special package will be given individual tuition by the Jaques-trained concierge in a host of traditional games such as backgammon, bagatelle, table skittles, shut the box and the less-familiar and challenging crokinole.

And if you can't quite remember how to play those family favourites such as Snakes and Ladders, Ludo, and Happy Families, you can refresh your skills ready to challenge the kids on your return home, too.

Indoor Games Breaks cost from £280 per room per night, including dinner and breakfast for two, individual tuition, and a Jaques goody bag – including a giant Snakes and Ladders or Ludo set, playing cards and poker dice and packs of Happy Families and Snap. So there's no excuse not to carry on the fun with the family.
