Video: Autoblog gets close to the McLaren MP4-12C

Updated

The McLaren MP4-12C has to be one of the most exciting road cars to come in 2011. The £168,500 F1 replacement has a carbon-fibre composite chassis and will be powered by a mega 592bhp 3.8-litre V8 twin-turbo engine.

McLaren seem at the top of their game when producing winning Formula One cars, so don't expect the road car to be any less competitive with its use of technology such as "brake steer." This is where the inside wheel is braked during fast cornering to reduce understeer.

We spoke to David Tibbetts, Sales Director of McLaren Birmingham, to find out more about who's buying them and how much is being spent on extras.
