Is 50 the golden age of happiness?

Forget any mid-life crisis thoughts of botox and motor bikes, those turning 50 are entering the true age of happiness, according to a study published this week.

This idea of content comes from having paid off their mortgage, got the children out of the house and enjoying spending more time with family and friends, but is this really the case for the most people aged 50 plus today?
