Insurance firms warned against sharing premiums with rivals

Car insurance firms have been ordered to stop using software which allowed rival companies to compare the premiums they were charging motorists.

An Office of Fair Trading investigation found that seven firms, including Aviva, AXA, RBS and Zurich, were using an Experian computer programme to share pricing information.
