On test: Audi A1 1.4 TFSI Sport

Updated

Audi claim to have shrink-wrapped everything that the brand stands for with its new A1, but can this car grab the top place in the premium supermini segment against the MINI and Fiat 500? We spent a week with a 1.4 TFSi Sport to find out.

The A1 gets off to a great start in the looks department as it's more like a scaled-down coupe than a supermini. My favourite parts of the design have to be the headlights with their distinctive LED daylight running lights (part of the £765 Xenon Plus headlamp option fitted to the test car), the falling roofline (in contrasting silver finish on our test car, which is £345 option) and the TT-like clamshell bonnet and boot.
