Beware charity collection scams

Seen the flyer on your doorstep, or a plastic collection bag?

It's a request for charitable donations - usually clothes but also other unwanted household items like blankets and electrical goods. It seems convenient - all you have to do is leave your donations on your doorstep and they'll be collected for a good cause.
