Is pizza a better bet than gold?

Is a combo of flour, mozzarella, pineapple and ham a better bet than gold? Taken as a whole, these commodities have done brilliantly in the last five years, despite a punishing recession. Yet backing a large 13.5" plate of Domino's pizza player might be a safer bet than that well-known traditional trusty, gold.
