Car industry previews new tech at Las Vegas show

The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is one of the biggest technology trade events in the world. While the likes of Microsoft, Intel, Dell, Cisco, Sony, Phillips and Samsung jostle each other for attention, some of the world's major car manufacturers have begun using the show to premiere their own cutting edge kit.

One indication of the CES's increasing significance to the automotive industry is Ford's decision to launch the electric Focus there. But the new EV is surrounded by a whole host of future technology - here are the automotive highlights.
