Group B rallying celebration

Updated

It might have only existed for four short years and been banned for 20, but Group B rallying is unforgettable and still continues to amaze and terrify in equal measure. From 1982 to 1986 Audi, Austin Rover, Citroen, Ford, Renault and Peugeot amongst others entered into a battle to see which manufacturer was the best at rallys across the world.

Cars such as the Audi Sport Quattro boasted over 300bhp, yet the bulging, winged carbon-Kevlar body weighed just 1,200kgs; so its performance was legendary. Ultimately the sights and sounds of Group B rallying were unforgettable and with all that power very dangerous.
