Video: New Yorkers use car to ski round Manhattan

One good thing about heavy snowfall (when you're not stranded in a car on a closed motorway) is that it tends to bring out a childlike sense of fun in those who really should know better.

Like many parts of the UK, the east coast of America suffered at the hands of a particularly bleak winter over the last month, but, as this video shows, some of the colonials weren't content with just snowballs and sledging.

Instead one plucky band of New Yorkers decided to go skiing in the streets of Manhattan. They made up for the lack of mountains by hitching a lift from a car. Inadvisable, but uncannily brilliant.
