Fuel stations dropping like flies

Updated

The number of fuel stations in the UK has dropped by more than half over the last two decades, while the number of cars on the road has doubled in the same period.

In 1991 there were 21,000 fuel stations and around 15 million cars, whereas now there are 31 million cars and less than 9,000 forecourts. It's a situation that's costing drivers in certain parts of the country time and money.
