Toyota shells out another $32.4m in fines over recalls

Toyota has had to shell out a further $32.4m (£20.9m) in fines to the American government, taking the total paid out to $48.8m(£31.4m).

The Japanese carmaker will probably look back on 2010 as a year it would rather forget, but at least its dealings with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) are now over.
