Are you telling me you made shoes...out of a DeLorean?
That's it, call of the search. The hunt for an Autoblog UK secret Santa gift is officially over. Or it will be on Friday when the Nike 6.0 Dunk SE DeLoreans land.
Obviously inspired by the stainless steel DMC-12 best remembered for its starring role in the Back to the Future trilogy (or for driving John DeLorean into the cocaine trade) the new trainers are limited to just a 1000 pairs worldwide.
As well as the colour the fancy footwear gets a DMC logo on the back (awesome), a Belfast stamp on the tongue (awesomer) and a sole based on the rear light cluster of Doc Brown's time machine (awesomest).
According to the blogosphere the Dunk SE DeLoreans are going to retail at around $90 in the US. Expect a similar price in sterling if any examples actually make it to the UK.
Alternatively you could simply wait until half a dozen pairs appear on eBay by Saturday afternoon. Of course by then they'll be wearing a price tag that would make alternative 1985 Biff Tannen's eyes water.
Better restart the Christmas gift hunt...
