Vettel exclusive: This is our moment
"I'm a bit speechless at the moment." Sebastian Vettel was having difficulty grasping the fact that he had just become the youngest ever Formula One world champion. With his victory in the Abu Dhabi GP, the Red Bull driver also claimed the 2010 F1 title. "I don't know what to say. I'm feeling utterly drained, but in any case, I am very happy."
The enormity of his achievement was gradually dawning on Sebastian Vettel. Before launching himself fully into the team celebration, he spoke to Autoblog UK.
Sebastian, how do you feel?
Sebastian Vettel: I'm feeling great. Just now, though, it's hard to take it all in and to believe that it really happened. But it's gradually sinking in, and I think that when I get back to the guys in the garage, the atmosphere there will be phenomenal.
How long will the party go on tonight? You've all got flights home booked for tomorrow...
Sebastian Vettel: Well I think the sun will be coming up. I'm not worried about that, though. It's already quite late and we won't be turning in early tonight.
Straight after a win, you're up for anything, aren't you?
Sebastian Vettel: I think this is our moment. We're all going to enjoy it together, and that's what I'm looking forward to now most of all.
