Alonso not thinking about title

Updated

Fernando Alonso has good memories of Brazil. It was here that he won his two Formula One titles in 2005 and 2006. This year too, Brazil could see the Spaniard wrap up the world championship. "But I'm not even thinking about it," stresses Alonso. "It's theoretically possible, but that doesn't matter to me."

Ferrari's and Alonso's improved form over the last few races suggests that he is now the clear favourite. Since the Korean GP, the Spanish driver has retaken the lead in the championship standings for the first time since the season curtain-raiser in Australia. In the last seven races, he has scored 133 points, 90 of them in the last four races. "It would be nice if the season had begun in Hockenheim," he says.
