Lotus unveils official Esprit video

Lotus's five model onslaught at the Paris motor show was all very good, but now the company has to follow on from the glamour of the show with a hefty dose of reality.

The Esprit seems to be taking the first baby steps towards physical reality with this official video. The heavily produced short centres around a 'Faster than sound' slogan and shows the car breaking through the sound barrier. Of course if the Esprit actually is capable of travelling at 768mph it would certainly be more revolutionary than the concept we witnessed at Paris.

What we can't quite work out is the cameo made by a growling big cat that looks suspiciously like a Jaguar. Is Lotus prodding its British rival or have the marketing guys not noticed they are referencing another company...?
