Paddock gossip from Suzuka - Part II

Updated

What do the Formula One folk get up to when "rain stops play"? The teams held an informal competition to see who could build the most puddle-worthy sailing craft. Red Bull used drinks cans while Mercedes opted for bottles and Lotus for paper. There was no actual winner but plenty of good humour, with Christian Horner commenting: "Adrian has constructed a boat with a flexing keel".

As early as lunchtime (great sushi and tempura at Virgin, by the way), it became clear to Timo Glock that qualifying was going to be rained off. So while the status veered between stand-by and stand-down, he made no pretence of taking the situation seriously, preferring to concentrate on an engrossing game of poker with team-mate Lucas di Grassi.
