Delayed Pole for Vettel, no further penalty for Hamilton

Sebastian Vettel secured pole position in the Japanese Grand Prix a day later than expected. Vettel bagged his eighth pole of the season in 01:30.785 minutes - one tenth up on team-mate, Mark Webber. Robert Kubica and Fernando Alonso head up the second row.

Lewis Hamilton qualified in third place but will start from P8. He has gone down five places because of a gearbox change. Also, Williams have lodged an appeal against the McLaren driver for impeding Nico Hülkenberg's hot lap.
