Video: Not a good day to be a Volvo crash test dummy

They regularly put themselves in harm's way for the greater good, but this dummy got more than he bargained for at a recent Volvo demonstration of its latest safety systems. Apparently this XC60's radar system failed to spot the 'pedestrian' in three out of 12 tests.

We applaud Volvo's commitment to safety advances – even if they do occasionally go wrong. We've experienced the S60's radar system for ourselves and can testify to its effectiveness, but the mistakes do seem to have an unfortunate way of happening in front of video cameras.
