Lamborghini reveals extreme Gallardo ahead of Paris show
Lamborghini will unveil a new lightweight special edition version of the Gallardo at the Paris motor show later this week.
The LP 570-4 Blancpain Edition is derived from the racing version of the supercar which compete in the Super Trofeo series.
The new model gets the rear spoiler and engine cover used in the one-make competition, and also boasts the lowest weight of any road-going Lamborghini thanks to carbon fibre components.
The Blancpain shares its 5.2-litre V10 engine with the Superleggera, and its 562bhp output delivers a 0-62mph sprint in 3.4 seconds. The manufacturer claims the car will exceed 199mph.
The limited edition model earns its name from a collaboration between Lamborghini and the luxury watchmaker, Blancpain, who are already the title sponsor of the Super Trofeo race series.
As well as its bespoke bodywork features, the car also gets matt black paintwork, Skorpius alloy wheels and yellow-painted callipers to go with the carbon-ceramic brakes.
Inside, the Edition adds black Alcantara finish to the interior, along with a prominent Blancpain logo in yellow stitching.
The first car was revealed at the final race weekend of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo on Sunday, but it will be shown to the public on the manufacturer's stand at Paris.
