More power, less weight for hardcore Maserati
If you always fancied a more focused Maserati, the Italian company has released pictures of its hardcore new GranTurismo MC Stradale, the fastest and most powerful car in its range.
It is inspired by its Trofeo and GT4 racing cars, and will reach speeds of over 186mph.
Power is only up 11bhp to 444bhp, but the rear seats have been removed and lighter materials used throughout the car to reduce weight.
The MC Stradale also comes with a bespoke bodykit that not only gives the car an aggressive look, but channels air underneath the car and into cooling vents. The twin-exhausts at the back feed into the diffuser to add extra downforce.
Maserati claims that ride and fuel consumption are not changed from the standard car – not that the latter is a concern when the car will cost over £100,000.
Due to be unveiled at the Paris motor show, it will go on sale in Europe in early 2011.
