Video: Gran Turismo 5 will include Red Bull X1 prototype

The more we hear about Gran Turismo 5, the more we're beginning to think the much-delayed race title will be well worth the wait.

The latest revelation is that the game's developer, Digital Polyphony, teamed up with Adrian Newey, Red Bull Racing's renowned chief engineer, to create the X1 prototype – a virtual race car designed to push the boundaries of what is possible without the restrictions of any technical regulations.

It's a fascinating concept, especially to anyone who's ever watched Formula One and pondered how fast the cars could go if the FIA didn't insist on slowing them down. We can't wait to try out the results.
