Audi set to reveal Quattro tribute at Paris show
Audi will unveil a concept car at the Paris show that has been built to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the legendary Sport Quattro.
That's according to German magazine, Autobild, which claims that a recently snapped Audi prototype is not the long-rumoured R4, but actually a design study dubbed 'Anniversario'.
The show car is reportedly based on a cut down RS5 chassis (a fitting homage to the original Sport Quattro) and, if Audi continues the tribute theme, is likely to get the 335bhp turbocharged five-cylinder engine the manufacturer currently uses in the TT RS.
Autobild's spy shots certainly suggest a shortened, stocky car with the kind of muscular proportions which made its Group B ancestor so recognisable. Intriguingly, the car appears to sport the same headlights as the E-tron concepts. Click here to take a look for yourself.
Very little else is known about the car, but no doubt Audi will share all the details if the 'Anniversario' does indeed get a debut at Paris. We'll find out in a couple of weeks.
