De la Rosa dropped for Heidfeld at Sauber

Germany's Nick Heidfeld will return to Formula One action at the forthcoming Singapore Grand Prix after his former BMW Sauber team confirmed on Tuesday that he will replace Pedro de la Rosa for the final five races of 2010. The news came as a major shock to the Spaniard, who had rejoined the F1 grid full-time having spent seven years as a McLaren test driver.

"I am surprised by the team's decision, but I respect it and would like to wish everyone good luck for the remainder of the season," de la Rosa said in a team press release. "I still intend to be in Formula One for 2011."
