Pope's bulletproof Mercedes already in the country

Updated

Pope Benedict XVI will use two specially adapted Popemobiles during his visit to the UK next week – and they are already in the country.

The two cars, modified Mercedes M-Classes, were brought over in storage containers and are being stored in secure locations, according to The Scotsman. The Pope will make three Popemobile journeys during the trip – through Edinburgh, Birmingham and London.

The Popemobile's registration number is SCV1, which stands for Stato della Citta del Vaticano, or Vatican City.
