Cameras in lollipops to catch inconsiderate drivers

Updated

Just as Christmas seems to get earlier every year, so does April Fools Day, with Flintshire Council getting in extremely early with its effort: the lollicam.

Every road crossing patrol officer is currently issued with a notebook to record offenders who fail to stop for the lollipop, but new 'lollicams' are being trialled in north Wales that could mean more drivers getting the £1,000 fine and three points the offence brings.

The hidden cameras will take details of offending vehicles to be passed onto police.
