Webber: Red Bull have to decide on which driver to back

Updated

Mark Webber's P2 finish in the Belgian GP represents a significant step forward in his title challenge. Although Lewis Hamilton's victory sees him reclaim top position in the drivers' standings, Webber is only three points behind. Meanwhile, team-mate Sebastian Vettel has a 31-point gap to make up. For Webber, this is a clear argument for the team getting behind one driver if they want to beat McLaren.

"McLaren have won plenty of titles and have a cabinet full of trophies. Red Bull also have a trophy collection, though it's not as impressive as McLaren's. So it all depends now on how hungry we are for success." Yet team principal Christian Horner thinks it is still too early to be favouring one driver over the other: "It wasn't Vettel's day today. But it's still too soon to swing behind one or the other of our two drivers."
