Chevrolet reveals new Orlando MPV

Chevrolet has revealed its new Orlando MPV ahead of the car's international debut at the Paris Motor Show next month.

The compact MPV sits on the same platform as the Vauxhall Astra, but will offer seven-seat practicality when it goes on sale next year.

The car gets chunky crossover styling and gets a low swept roofline to go with the split radiator grille familiar to the current Chevrolet range.
Just as important as the exterior looks will be the Orlando's interior, which the manufacturer claims will be one of the most voluminous in its class.

The second and third row of seats have been raised to offer rear passengers a better view out of the window and storage has been maximised by a range of compartments dotted round the cabin, including one behind the fascia of the stereo.

Customers will also be able to choose from four trim levels in the UK with standard equipment on all cars including electronic stability control, six air-bags and air conditioning.

The Orlando's engine lineup will include a 139bhp 1.8-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel offering either 129bhp and 161bhp.

Chevrolet is keen for its new MPV to attract fresh customers to the brand as it kicks off an ambitious seven-product launch over the next 15 months.

Expect the Orlando to be very competitively priced against its competitors in the keenly fought, family-orientated segment.
