Wooden car up for auction on ebay...and it's a runner

Nic Cackett

We're not particularly big fans of buying cars off ebay here at Autoblog – for our money you can't beat the all-conquering Auto Trader – but we're willing to accept that without the world's biggest auction site you'd never find off-the-wall stuff like this little gem.

Built from solid Cedar wood by a veteran furniture builder, this one-of-a-kind machine actually sits on an '86 Toyota pick-up chassis, and is powered by a Chrysler V8 engine and transmission.

Apparently the car took almost two years to build and, according to its seller, it drives perfectly. The downside is you'd have to get the thing shipped over from the States, but if you're in the market for a guaranteed head turner around town, what could be better?
