Morgan Eva GT preview pic released ahead of world debut
Just days before the final version appears in the flesh at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance this weekend, a picture of the British Morgan Eva GT supercar has appeared.
Ok, so it is only a line drawing, but the preview given to Autocar gives a strong indication to the looks of the limited edition, BMW-powered car.Final details will be confirmed at the launch, but Morgan has indicated that the four-seater car will get the German manufacturer's 306bhp straight-six engine that is capable of 40mpg under that seemingly long bonnet. The rear-wheel drive setup will help power the Eva GT to 60mph in 4.5seconds, and take it all the way to 170mph.
The first public viewing will be this Saturday, August 15, and the company is taking deposits of £5,000 if you like what you see there. Production will begin in 2012 of a limited run of 100 cars, although there is nothing to say that a few more might get made as well.
The Eva GT promises to be the first of a series of Morgans, with the company saying it will bring out a new model once every two years. Let's hope it proves a success for this British company.
