Red Bull designer Newey hospitalised after racing accident

Red Bull designer Adrian Newey was hospitalised on Sunday for precautionary checks after a racing accident in a Ginetta G50 Championship race at Snetterton. Newey, the chief technical officer of Red Bull Racing, was a guest entrant in the Ginetta race and was hit heavily by the car of Tony Hughes after being spun by another car onto the racing line. While Hughes was able to climb from his car unaided, Newey had to be stretchered to an ambulance, before being transferred to hospital. The race was red-flagged as the Briton was tended to by medics.
