Car sales up but showrooms still empty

New car sales figures for June show registrations rose 10.8 per cent on 2009 – the 12th monthly rise recorded by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

However dealers are reporting an entirely different story and claim the official stats 'distort the truth' – that truth being empty showrooms and buyers thin on the ground.
