American firm 'unveils' 2000bhp hypercar

Updated

With Bugatti unveiling the new record-breaking version of the Veyron this week, it was only matter of time before someone with balls of brass stepped forward to steal its headline-grabbing thunder.

The first contender to slip into the limelight is American firm, Transtar Racing. They presented their new 2000bhp supercar to the world via their own website and 'calculated' it would be capable of speeds in excess of 300mph.

Yes, that's right, 'calculated'. They can't try it out because the Dagger GT (great name) only exists as a rendering and a tentative spec sheet. Still, the enthusiasm's there, and the optimistic claims do not stop with outright speed.
